The Hunza Cultural Tour is a guided trip lasting 6 days in Gilgit-Baltistan, northern Pakistan, topping out at 2,438 m. It is graded Easy — sightseeing and short walks — short day walks. 5 fixed departures are open from $800 per person, all-inclusive from Islamabad.
Hunza Cultural Tour — 6 Days, 2027 All-Inclusive
The Hunza Cultural Tour is a deep dive into one of Asia's most ancient and visually spectacular cultures — the Burusho people of Hunza Valley, whose civilisation has flourished for over two thousand years, developing a unique language (Burushaski), remarkable architecture and a legendary reputation for longevity and hospitality.
Baltit Fort
Hunza's crown jewel — a 700-year-old royal palace in distinctive Tibetan-influenced Balti style, perched above Karimabad with commanding valley views. Meticulously restored by the Aga Khan Cultural Service and listed as a UNESCO Heritage Site.
Eagle's Nest (Duikar, 3,200 m)
The most spectacular aerial perspective of Hunza Valley — terraced orchards stretching to the horizon with Rakaposhi, Passu Cones and Karakoram peaks framing the view. Sunrise here is one of Pakistan's most photographed scenes.
Attabad Lake & Passu Cones
Drive north along the Karakoram Highway to the vivid turquoise Attabad Lake and the dramatic Passu Cathedral spires — the most recognisable rock formations on the entire KKH.

Why Karakoram Venture
Because the people who take you up this mountain are from it. Our guides grew up in these valleys, and they are our own team — not a booking desk handing you to whoever is cheapest that week. Every one of them holds a guide licence from DTS Gilgit-Baltistan and the Federal DTS, renewed each year, and worked at least five years in the region before applying for it. Most also hold Wilderness First Aid.
Because the safety is real, and we will name it rather than imply it. A satellite phone travels in every camp, we hold established helicopter-rescue contacts for this region, and we tell you exactly which travel insurance to carry. Budget operators cut precisely these things, because you cannot see them on a web page.
Because the price is honest. Local infrastructure is why $800 per person covers the trip from Islamabad rather than a stripped-down base rate. Exactly what it includes — and the handful of things it does not — is set out above.
